Feature Article

Pictures I have used for my magazine

Front Cover

This is the picture I have used for my Front Cover. It has my girl group around a Christmas tree pointing to the top star. I have cut out around the whole picture to get the full effect. I have also sharpened the picture to make it less pixellated. I have used this picture as my front cover image as it is the best picture I have of my girl group and I specifically took this picture for it to be used on my front cover. I have also used this picture as I like how it shows off my girl group and my Christmas tree to show that my magazine is a Christmas magazine.

This is the background picture to my contents page. I have used gradient to fade this image into the background. I have used this picture as I didn't have a good enough picture to go on my contents page so I choose this picture and it worked really well. With the picture faded, it has brought out the lights and the reflection it has on the Christmas tree. I have also cropped this picture to get rid of anything I didn't want.

This picture has been cropped so I can use it on my contents page. I have also sharpened this picture. I have used this picture so the theme of Christmas runs through the magazine and by cropping this picture shows the different styles of my girl group.

This is the second part of my cropped picture, as I have said before, I have cropped this picture to show the different style that my band mates have but how they also connect together. This picture has been sharpened all over and at the edges.

Feature Article

This is the main picture for my feature article because I like how my girl band are posing and how I haven't had to sharpen this picture or crop it in any way. I have changed their clothes so they are more comfortable and I have also done this to make it look like its Christmas morning and their excited by the looks on their faces.

This is the second picture of my feature article and it is the last picture in my magazine. I have used gradient to fade this picture to put it behind my text in my feature article. I haven't had to crop this picture but on my feature article I have had to crop it a little so it can fit into the lines on my page. I was going to use three separate pictures but as I liked this one the best, I decided to delete the other pictures and just use this one so I have two main pictures on my feature article.

Overall I have used six pictures for my magazine. One on the front cover, three on my contents page and two on my feature article.

Update of Contents, Front Cover and Double Page article

This is my front cover and this is the finished version. I have made the name of my group big by using the font at 60 and I have had to cut out around my christmas tree and my girl group, I have also lightened the picture to enhance the front cover. My Front Cover is know finished but I will probably change some more things before my deadline.

This is my contents page, I have cropped the picture and faded my background picture. I have also cropped the pictures of my girl group and rotated them. I am going to change the colour of my text and make them bigger to stand out against my background. My contents page isn't finished yet as I still have to crop it abit more to get the full affect of my christmas tree.

This is my feature article. I have used four pictures and they have all been cropped and sharpened, the main picture has been sharpened most. I have needed to create more questions as I didn't have enough for the double page. I have also used quotes from my interview to attract the readers eyes and make them read the interview to see where the quote's have come from. I have also added colour to my questions and the name of who has answered the question, in nearly every question there is more answer. I have kept the main colour of my magazine the same through out, which is PINK and I have also used the same main font for my headings to make them stand out.

Update

Since my last post I have started to produce my magazine. The first thing I designed was my contents page and I am know moving on to my Front page and Double page article.

My contents page is nearly done but I have to change the colour and sizes of my fonts to make them stand out against my background. For my contents background, I have cropped a picture of my christmas tree and lightened it so it looks like it has faded into the background with pictures of my girl group on top of it.

I have also just started my front cover but my picture that I was going to use I have had to cut out in Photoshop and I haven't finished that yet as I have only just started it. I have also had to crop parts of my picture out for it to fit into the pink lines on InDesign.

I haven't started my double page article yet as I want to finish my front page and content page before I start that. I have picked out the pictures for my article and I have corrected my interview which I know have to type up.

Risk Assessment

I have completed a risk assessment form as I understand how my photo shoot could of been dangerous as there was eletricals and glass around my tree. I completed the risk assessment form on my own and I didn't get any influence from other people. I also got my teachers to look at it and sign it after she was happy that all my information was correct.
